Meet Paz Lenchantin

Paz Lenchantin (born in Mar del Plata, Argentina) is an American musician of Armenian and French ancestry. She came to Los Angeles, California with her family at the age of four.

Lenchantin speaks fluent Spanish and English. She began playing piano at age five. She then took violin lessons at age eight and taught herself how to play guitar at age twelve. Her sister, Ana is a musician and a frequent collaborator. She and her late brother Luciano Lenchantin also collaborated frequently.

She is most well-known as one of the original members of A Perfect Circle, playing bass guitar and violin:

Oh, god, fucking PAZ. I love her. I got into APC for the same reasons everyone else did, because I am a dipshit for maynard, but then it was Paz's driving awesome grinding assault bass that fucking hooked me. She does vocals on an acoustic version of the Hollow, really IIRC she does that whole version, and who would have fucking thought that the MJK version could be left in the dirt. She's fucking amazing. People act like maynard or howerdel are the center of that band, and regardless of who started it, she's the fucking heart. I didn't even know about her new project, holy shit am I excited, you don't even KNOW.

Oh yes, I love Paz and didn't find out about her newest project until just the other day. APC was not the same after Paz left, I still like them but Mer de Noms remains my all time favorite album.

I didn't know that she did an acoustic version of Hollow! I'll have to hunt for it.
