While searching for Brazil female death metal bands, I stumbled on a youtube vid entitled "chinese metal band with female vocal". And I played it. And though I had read the astonished and approving comments of the youtubers before me, I was still slackjawed at the power of Ms. Doudou's growl. I mean, flabbergasted.

The band's name is Purgatory, a name which they share with another Chinese all male metal group. They have already broken up, but a google search tells me that Ms. DouDou is in another group called Soma TNT

Soma TNT was formed in February 2007. The band consists of the female lead singer Fan Doudou (豆豆), who is well-known for her growls in the youtube video chinese metal band with female vocals (her old band Purgatory has nothing to do with the all-male chinese black/death metal band Purgatory). She is one of the chinese women who is capable of guttural vocals, which are not inferior to male ones.
Hui Zi (辉仔) is playing guitar since high school and is very skilled, especially in composing.
Bass player Da La (塔拉) is the oldest member of the band. In 2008, guitar player Li Quan (李泉) and drummer Li Xiao Long (李小龙) joined the band to complete the current line-up.
The band has no releases, but they're doing live gigs and are featured on a DVD compilation of the 13 Club. MORE
