Las Vulpes - Me Gusta Ser Una Zorra (Buena calidad)

VIA: Tom Tom Magazine: THROWBACK: Las Vulpes

It was probably the demise of the nationwide TV show Caja de Ritmos (Rhythm Box), after a Vulpes performance, that gave the band such infamy. Surfacing as the first female punk band of Bilbao, Spain in 1980, the quartet swung a unapologetic coup d’etat with every song. Their single, “Me gusta ser una zorra” (“I love being a slut/bitch/cunt”), was a spin on Iggy Pop’s “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, but encompassed their own stinging lyrics: “I’d rather masturbate alone in my bed, than sleep with someone that talks to me about tomorrow."MORE

Chain-Gang "You Man" (all Filipina rockers)

All Pinay band Chain Gang

The all-Pinay group Chain Gang is renowned for its bold eclecticism and unyielding independent spirit. Consisting of Naomi Villa (vocals), Mae Reyes (guitars), Dorcas Mallare (drums), and Aye Ubaldo (bass), Chain Gang formed in Manila, Philippines. When Mallare's college pals opened the club Red Rocks (later called Club Dredd), Chain Gang became its house band in 1989. In the early '90s, Chain Gang sent a four-track demo to two alternative radio stations in Manila. One of the tracks, "What's Ahead," earned numerous requests; however, Chain Gang had no material available to the public. Reluctant to deal with record labels, Chain Gang recorded their 1993 debut album, Smelly Smiley Stinky Dinkies, on their own. Released only on cassette, Smelly Smiley Stinky Dinkies was lauded by critics, and copies of it became difficult to find. The group's feminist perspective and versatile musicianship separated it from the male-lead, rock-oriented Manila groups at the time. Chain Gang also rejected offers to appear on TV, strengthening their status as underground all-stars. In concert, Chain Gang often covered a diverse selection of '70s and '80s classics, everything from disco to the Police's "Message in a Bottle,"reflecting the group's vast musical range. Ubaldo left the band in 1997, replaced by Sunny Lucero. In 2001, Chain Gang released Shift 87231, delving into funk, punk, and neo-psychedelia.

They started out with two women: Hayley Foster vocals and Skarlet Saramore, the drummer.

Chaingang -- Animal

Wiki sez:

Chaingang formed in 2007[1] following the dissolution of Hayley Foster and Mike Jeffery's former band Pinky Tuscadero on New Year's Eve 2006. Cultivating a rapt cult following across Sydney, the band first came to widespread attention when they were personally chosen by US band Panic At The Disco to support them during their 2008 Australian tour.[2].

A demo version of one of their first tracks, Get Off My Stage, attracted widespread attention via tastemaking music blogs across the UK, US and Australia, and saw the band selected by national youth broadcaster Triple J as an Unearthed Feature Artist in 2008.

Chaingang have since played with the likes of Cold War Kids, The Streets, Crystal Castles, Ladyhawke, The Grates, Bluejuice, Peaches' band Sweet Machine, Operator Please, and opened for George Michael at the official 2010 Sydney Mardi Gras party. The band were also finalists in MTV's Kickstart initiative.

Chaingang recently completed a national tour with Operator Please and Tim and Jean, and are set to play the Big Day Out festival in January 2011.[3].
