The legendary Ann and Nancy Wilson

Saw a documentary on them this summer. (ETA:HA!!! Here it is!!! It came out in maybe the early 2000s. HEART - Behind the Music Part One,Part Two, Part Three and Part 4) A big round of applause to Heart! Both sisters are serious multi-instrumentalists and sing, but Ann Wilson is known for the powerhouse vocals, while Nancy Wilson does sweet sweet things to the guitar:)

Heart - Barracuda (1977)

According to Wikipedia:
Heart is a rock band whose founding members came from Seattle, Washington, USA in the early 1970s.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Going through several lineup changes, the only constant members of the group are sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.[10] The group rose to fame in the 1970s with their music being influenced by hard rock as well as folk music. After diminishing in popularity for a couple of years in the early 80s, the band enjoyed a massive comeback in 1985, experiencing further successes with their power ballads and pop hits throughout the rest of that decade and into the 90s.
Over their four-decade career, Heart has had chart successes with a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from hard rock and metal (Barracuda, If Looks Could Kill, Black on Black II), to folk rock (Dreamboat Annie, Love Alive, Dog and Butterfly), to power ballads (Alone, These Dreams, What About Love). With both Jupiter's Darling in 2004 and their latest release Red Velvet Car in August 2010, Heart made a return to their hard rock/acoustic roots of the late 70s.MORE

Heart - Heartless (Live on TV)

I'm kinda surprised at how many songs I knew and loved in the 80's that I didn't know were theirs!

Heart - What About Love? 1985

Heart - Alone

Heart These Dreams

Heart - Who Will You Run To?

Heart - Nothin' At All

I think I'd better stop here or we'll be here all night:) One of the extremely irritating thing is that Ann Wilson's weight is such a big deal! Tons of men are overweight, Meatloaf comes immediately to mind, but no-one cares about that, just their talent! While Ann's weight obscures her talent because women are first and foremost ornamental, don'cha know! We must first look conventionally beautiful, and THEN anything else about us comes in! Oh GOD!

I was in high school when the songs what about love and barracuda were popular and I didn't like Heart at all, and at the time it was because of the sexy clothes, I thought they were just dress up dolls, I didn't take the time to think about the guitar playing and how difficult it must have been to be women in the rock world. I had grown up with Carole King and Joan Baez and the folk world where there were lots of women, so it just never occurred to me. I still don't really like Heart, but I can appreciate the talent.
