Bad Year Rising
First, when I went to the NY Times website this morning, I saw that Phoebe Snow had died. Phoebe Snow had a fine, rich voice very like butter and maple syrup, and the local radio station actually has been playing her "San Francisco Bay Blues" even though it mostly doesn't sound quite like her. (I'm pretty sure "Poetry Man" is on YouTube somewhere, but that will be a later edit.)
Then the CBC announced that Poly Styrene had died. She'd just released a new album, too. (Here's the link back to the article
the_future_modernes wrote about her for this comm. The "O Bondage Up Yours" video is something else now, though.)
(
the_future_modernes left a comment on my memorial posting. I think this has taken more than five minutes, though.)
